Finding Sponsors

The biggest challenge to this event for seems to be finding sponsors. OK maybe I haven't quite given it my all, but it is definitely out of my comfort zone to go to people/corporations asking them to support me in my cause monetarily! This Christmas I put out my first Album in an effort to raise some money. (You can listen to some of the songs here on the side-bar!) It cost me way more than I expected and people were pretty tight this year. But I must say I am proud of myself for going door to door selling it. Door to door sales is not my favorite... especially when I am supposed to brag on myself in order to sell the product. I mean, I know I'm good, but I don't want to sound prideful ;0)! But with the help of Kevin and Sayler marching down the other side of the street we were successful enough to pay for a voice lesson with the notorious Seth Riggs... (www.speechlevelsinging.com) well worth all that door knocking. Thanks to all my friends and family that bought one and made me feel like a winner with all of their compliments! I watched on you -tube last year's grand championship winner... wow I have a long way to go! But good thing I have 6 months to prepare... though I think it will go a lot faster than I plan. Anybody have any ideas on how to get sponsors?????? Help?????

The Adventure Begins

So I thought I'd better create my personal blog to journal the events happening in my life. A few months ago I auditioned and made Team USA for the World Championship of Performing Arts. Basically this is the Olympics for the fine arts. I get to compete in 5 categories of singing, some acting and modeling. I've been working really hard over the last 6 months to really improve my singing. I went to a business coach with my husband (to support him of course!) and he asked me about my life and passions. I had to admit I was ashamed to admit that I'd sang since I was 14, loved it and had never done anything with it because I was always comparing myself to other singers.
Well that changed when he asked me "who would you be without comparison?" My answer.... I'D be out on that stage performing for thousands... ok we'll start with hundreds.... but ultimately my dream would be to sing for huge audiences and touch them for good. I'd like to be a role model with integrity, morals, and a happy marriage ;0)! So I began auditioning for different events. I also made the cut for the program HIT search America which will take place this April. Which I get to sing in fornt of agents from LA, Las Vegas, NM, and of course AZ in hoped of landing some type of job!
So here I go on my journey of preparation for this huge event. I am so excited and appreciate the support of my family. Kevin has been so amazing... not only making sure I practice everyday, but bringing home the bacon for me to be able afford these expensive lessons. Sponsors and donations towatd the cause are always welcome!!! Wish me luck!
